The fourth session of Archi Talks was successfully held on 17th March’2018 at the corporate office of Agha Steel Industries. The gathering was organized with an aim to shed light on urban planning issues of the city by the guest speaker Mr.Arif Hassan.
Mr. Arif Hasan is an Architect, Planner, Activist, Social Researcher, Teacher and writer. Mr.Arif Hasan is a recipient of Hilal-i-Imtiaz which is country’s highest award for a citizen. His work on urban planning settlements and related issues spans over 50 years. He is the Chairperson of Orangi Pilot Project-Research and Training Institute, Urban Resource Centre Karachi, Chancellor of Textile Institute of Pakistan, Member of the Executive Council of the Asian Coalition for Housing Rights, UN’s Advisory Group on Forced Evictions and the list continues.
The exclusive concept “Archi Talks” was an initiation of Archi Times in collaboration with ASI providing platform for intellectual like-minded discussions having value and substance to them. On this platform Innovative ideas are thrown about and new information is exchanged among experts. The aim is to bring Architects, Engineers, Consultants, Researchers, Academicians and representatives from the field under one roof, where they gather and express their views, concepts, ideas on various topics and research findings are presented to move towards a mutual agreement under the slogan “Sharing Knowledge-Building Future”.
