The event was organized on 3rd Nov 2016 at Marriott Hotel Karachi. Valuable thoughts were shared by numerous leading personalities of the sector and ministry delivered their speeches on the Power crises, current development & achievements, future strategies, research & development technological development & advancement, plan of action energy efficiency conservation and management, impact on economic growth and development in the country.

Mr. Hussain Agha also addressed and supported the mandate of the event, he added that as the development of the infrastructure is capital intensive, it should be made durable by using quality materials so that it could last for decades.

Pak-Italy Friendship – Step Ahead.

Stepping forward to productivity increase, improving transformation costs and sustainability in Steel production, are the drivers for the Project at Agha Steel Industries.

Italian Embassy, Islamabad hosted a Pak-Italy Friendship Contract Signing Ceremony in Sarena Islamabad on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 where The Contract for the Meltshop Enhancement Project was signed between Agha Steel Industries- Pakistan and Danieli – Italy, the project includes the complete reconstruction of the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and a new Fume Treatment Plant.

Agha Steel Industries is the only private steelmaker running a Minimill EAF based in Pakistan, and from 2011 has reached a very important position in a market with a growing demand for quality construction steel.

Danieli, established since 1914, is the leader in engineering technology and machinery supply to the metals Industry. The group has a proven track record for innovation, spending 140 M Euro on just research and development each year, is known for supplying the most efficient technologies. Danieli, public listed company in Italy, has revenues of approximately €3 billion, is looking to collaborate with Agha Steel to enhance the steel making capacity of the company.

The project will ensure that Agha Steel Industries utilizes the largest steel manufacturing furnace in Pakistan to make quality grade rebars for the upcoming growth in steel demand to be witnessed from CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) related projects.

Agha Steel is also committed to move towards an environmental friendly steelmaking shop by installing a new fumes dedusting System.
With the Meltshop enhancement project, Agha Steel Industries is taking a step ahead on the sustainable steel production.

On this occasion, Italian Ambassador, His Excellency Stefano Pontecorvo shared his gratitude during this milestone as positive step in Pak-Italy economic friendship relations. He further extended his best wishes for Agha Steel Industries and Danieli for a successful implementation of the plant, which will ultimately be a source of active support in national infrastructural growth of Pakistan.
