Inauguration of Kausar-ul-Jungshahi

Kausar-ul-Jungshahi, a Solar Powered RO (Reverse Osmosis) Tube well, is a dynamic change to uplift and develop a healthier living standard for the residents of “Jungshahi” in District Thatta.
The community members of Jungshahi enjoyed and celebrated the gifting of RO plant in the presence of Mr. Ghulam Qadir Palejo, Chairman, District Council Thatta, local residential and political personality along with Mr. Hussain Agha, Executive Director, Agha Steel Industries. This project is another “feather in cap” of corporate social responsibility of industry.
During the occasion, Mr. Hussain Agha, keeping its commitment to gift this plant noted, “Water is an essential human need and we are fortunate that Agha Industries family could play a pivotal role in providing 5000 people with this essential need by the grace of Almighty Allah”.
He also stated that Agha Steel Industries will remain committed to uplift local communities and keep serving the people of Pakistan with highest grade steel being produced at Agha Steel Industries.
This project is one its kind and the first facility that offers the local neighborhood with clean and sweet drinking water of at least 3000 gallons per day, powered by solar energy and utilizes reverse osmosis technology to purify the water.
In closing of the ceremony, Mr. Ghulam Qadir Palejo extended his motivational views and stated, “Agha Steel has added an inspirational contribution towards overcoming water scarcity and depletion situation in the province of Sindh, which is the basic cause of increasing hepatitis disease in masses and this tube well will positively impact the lives of the local community of Jungshahi. It will add value to the lives of entire community members and will support by providing them with better sanitation, nutrition and hygiene.”

 

ASI and Pakistan Navy jointly launch Shan e Bahr Monument

When two great institutions join hands, magnificent things can happen. A beautiful evening was set up on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Flag Lane of Naval Commander Karachi for the grand inauguration ceremony. This day was backed up by months of hard work and dedication of Agha Steel Industries and our respectable Pakistan Navy. To show appreciation for the services of our Navy, Agha Steel Industries built an illustrious monument “SHAN-e-BAHR” which symbolizes the shan and dignity of Pakistan Naval Forces.
Mr. Owais Afridi, Brand Manager, Agha Steel Industries was called upon the stage to enlighten the audience about the project appraisal and how he built a working relation between Agha Steel Brand team and Navy officers through which the success of the Monument was made possible.
Chief Guest of the ceremony, Commander Karachi, Rear Admiral Ather Mukhtar commended the efforts of Agha Steel Industries and re-instated the fact that this monument indeed shows that Agha Steel has done justice to its slogan “Defining Quality”. “This monument could not have had a better name than Shan-e-Bahr and it just adds to the beauty of Shahra-e-Faisal. Pakistan is only going to go forward in the future” he added.
Mr. Hussain Agha, Executive Director, Agha Steel Industries said that “it is a very big achievement as this monument was built and setup in a record time of seven days. Never underestimate the power of Pakistanis as they can do anything with their will and commitment.” He also stated that Agha Steel Industries will keep serving Pakistan Navy with highest grade steel being produced at Agha Steel Industries.
The ceremony was concluded with the inauguration of Shan-e-Bahr and it marked the beginning of a wonderful relationship that is only going to get strong to strengthen our beloved country Pakistan.

Architect alumni gathered at DUET auditorium, Jinnah Campus

On Aug 19th, 2017 dreams came true at DUET auditorium, Jinnah Campus where architects alumni gathered. Some meeting after decades.
The program started with Quranic recitation by final year student, Abdul Qadir. The whole ceremony was conducted by two final year students: Samreen Liaquat and Junaid ur Rehman. Many other students were involved in various other activities of the night.
Welcome address was delivered by Mumtaz Jilani and Imran Siddiqui followed by a speech on aspirations and intentions of Agha Steel regarding education sector by Owais Afridi.
Agha Steel Industries is actively involved in various universities, setting up laboratories, conducting workshop and providing training.
The core group consisted of: Ar. Fazal Noor, Ar. Shah Monis, Ar. Imran Siddiqui, Ar. Rabia Siddiqui, Ar. Afhsan Jamshed, Ar. Khursheed ul Hassan, Ar. Kamran Ansari, Ar. Farrukh Shahid, Ar. Rameez Arain, & Ar. Sheema Amir. These architects were called on stage to be recognized.
Senior alumni who real pushed and supported DUAA are: Ar. Faiz Kidwai, Ar. Hafiz Habibi, Ar. Humaoun Khalil, Ar. Shoaib Arif, Ar. Mian Inamullah, Ar. Anjum Adil, Ar. Anjum Pervaiz, Ar. Murad Jamil, Ar. Uzma Zain, Ar. Peerzada Masroo & Ar. Muhammad Zia.
The list is long but no doubt the efforts by each were valuable. Our alumni from abroad also pooled in their critique and advice.
Mr. Hussain Agha, Exec. Director, Agha Steel Industries, was awarded in recognition of his valuable support to technological education. Afterwards, he spoke to the audience through a video message as he was out of the country but was kind enough to take out time.
The ceremony ended with a scrumptious dinner in the courtyard of the campus building bringing back fond memories.

2nd ARCHI Talks, “Sharing Knowledge-Building Future”

The event catered to the need of sharing of ideas, formal presentations of newly developed concepts in the field of design engineering also a platform for acknowledgment of individuals / organizations for their work done in the field of architectural development.

The second session of ARCHi Talks was held at Agha Steel Corporate office on Saturday, August 12, 2017. It was a lovely gathering of senior academicians, practicing architects and professionals associated with infrastructural development, Design & Engineering consultancy firms and Developers.

Renowned Architect, Mr. Hafeez Habibi, Architect, Consultants Group, delivered a key note presentation on the topic of “The KNIP, Karachi Neighborhood Improvement Program” for the re-development of the historical buildings present in certain neighborhoods of Karachi. Mr. Habibi emphasized on the fact that how we are not industrialized like the west and major changes have to be done in order to bring the architecture back to life. The project is aimed to bring back the fearless and exciting day and nights back to the hub of the city.

The constraints and restrictions were also highlighted which have been the cause that those historic buildings and architecture have been left neglected.

Fellows from IVS, NESPAK and many other senior architects and professionals also graced the event by their kind presence, the talk session covered the conventional challenges and their practical solutions.

Mr. Hussain Agha, Executive Director, Agha Steel Industries joined the event virtually and shared his sincere gratitude to the participants for making the Talks an effective and productive gathering for sharing knowledge.

The Book “55 Architects of Pakistan” was presented to the guests at the event and the event ended up with a signing activity to share the consent for collaborative support.

ARCHi Talks will continue every month to bring the best architects of the country under one roof to produce solutions which will result in the industrial development of Pakistan.

Agha Steel Circle Inauguration

Karachi, June 22nd 2017 Mayor Karachi Mr. Waseem Akhtar along with Mr. Moid Anwar, Chairman, DMC-East, Mr. Hussain Agha, Executive Director, Agha Steel Industries and Mr. Amir Ghanchi, Vice President, Voice of Karachi inaugurated AGHA STEEL CIRCLE at main Shaheed-e-Millat Road, Karachi.

The roundabout was adapted and beautified with a master piece art to exhibit national Unity, Brotherhood and Strength. The said development has generously donated and will be maintained by Agha Steel Industries under its Social Corporate Responsibility (CSR) initiative in strategic partnership with Voice of Karachi and support from DMC-East.

“The addition of this conceptual monument will enhance the beauty of Karachi with a positive message of unity and strength, these kind of initiatives will beautify the city in a very creative manner” said Mr. Waseem Akhtar, Mayor Karachi.

Mr. Hussain Agha, Executive Director, Agha Steel Industries said “This development is a gift to the beloved motherland and to all nation as well, this city has given us many opportunities to grow and Agha Steel will return those blessings through various CSR initiatives such as Agha Dialysis Centers, Agha Steel Circle and many other to share the message of unity “Karachi se Kashmir Tak – Mayaar aur Bharosey ki Pehchan” ensigns the mission of Agha Steel.”
